Dr Russ offers orthopaedic surgery

As vets we are often asked, "Do you perform Surgery in the clinic?" The answer, of course, is yes.  However, did you know that we also carry out orthopaedic (bone) surgery at our clinic?

Dr Russell Grigg

Dr Russell Grigg has almost 30 years of veterinary surgery experience and has a special interest in orthopaedic surgery. A number of years ago, he completed training in a surgery technique for dogs over 25kg with cruciate ligament rupture called TTA OssAbility (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement). This complex surgery involves the use of clever equipment including 3D printed titanium implants.

The result, after a carefully managed post-operative recovery period, is a dog that was previously moderately lame to severely lame on the affected leg walking freely and comfortably on the limb once again.

The other benefit of us performing this surgery technique in clinic is that we do not need to refer dogs to the surgical specialists in the Gold Coast or Brisbane for this kind of surgery. Thanks Dr Russ!
