Clinic Team Update
The wonderful Dr Russ is taking an extended break! He’ll be finishing up at the clinic on 13th March, and will be away for 12 months. He has decided it’s time to get out there and enjoy the world. While we are excited for him, we will miss his face and fun quirky ways in clinic every day.
We wish him the most fabulous (not to mention well earned) 12 month break!
Dr Layla, who you may have already met (as she has been working with us for a little while already), will be holding the fort while Russ is away. Layla graduated from the University of Queensland in early 2004 and recently moved to the Byron Bay area after more than a decade working on the mid north coast. Her main focus is on small animal practice with a special interest in emergency & critical care care, completing a post graduate course in 2010.
Layla’s other passion is animal welfare projects in developing countries, and in her role as senior vet for charity GoPawesome has been involved in desexing street animals in South East Asia & South America. Combining this with her love of travel, she has also volunteered at elephant sanctuaries in Thailand and with sloths in Central America. If you haven't already, we are excited for you to meet Layla, she is a great addition to our team.
