Rama came into the clinic for a check-up as he had been off his food and not his normal self. Dr Susie suspected that he had a bleeding tumour internally and after some further investigation (blood tests and ultrasound), he ended up having an exploratory laparotomy (vet words for 'a look inside')! A large tumour was located on Rama's spleen and he needed a splenectomy, meaning that the removal of his entire spleen was required.
Rama is now on the road to recovery and his tail is wagging once again. It's so lovely to see a much-loved pet reunited with their human and happy again - it's the reason we come to work every day!
